Axel Howind commented on PDFBOX-5902:
-------------------------------------
Ah, sorry, no. Maybe you cannot change the major version (8). But you should
always be able to (and really ought to) change the minor version. Whoever
decides that you should stay on a version five year old version containing
hundreds of fixed bugs and issues and open to dozens of long disclosed security
vulnerabilities is either not a "Java person" or for some other reason is
lacking in knowledge (sorry, I know you are not supposed to phrase it like that
in chinese culture, but it is as it is). Maybe there was just a
misunderstanding what "updating to a new Java version means". Those minor
updates are called CPU (critical patch update) for a reason. It is a totally
other thing than moving to a new major version. You should definitely talk to
someone responsible.
I cannot tell if this will fix your issue, but missing out on five years of
security updates is bordering on a criminal act in a production environment.

> When I try to extract the text content from a pdf file with a size of 85.6MB,
> at this point the CPU usage is abnormal, the threshold of the alarm is
> reached, and the extraction speed is also very slow, didn't get results for a
> few minutes, not a memory problem, also tried to upgrade the version of the
> library, this problem still exists.
