Hi everyone, I've cherry-picked or applied equivalent commits for all the recent main branch changes to the scala-3 branch. The code is quite different on the scala-3 branch so it seemed easier to go this route.
If anyone has any objections to this approach, give me a shout. My updates to the scala-3 branch can be reverted and re-applied if there is a better approach.
