I have started an independent discussion about whether Apache Pekko is ready to graduate as a TLP. I want to keep this discussion about the prospective membership of the Apache Pekko PMC and committer membership separate.
It is usual for graduating projects to review its membership as part of switching to being a TLP. The Pekko PPMC and commiter groups are reasonably small but I think it is fair to say that some existing members have not been very active. I'm going to propose that any existing PPMC member or Pekko committer will retain their committer status in Apache Pekko if and when it graduates as a TLP. We will continue to review contributions to see if we should start discussions about inviting extra Pekko committers. With PMC membership, I propose that PPMC members who meet these criterions can join the new PMC. * mentors if they opt in * any PPMC member who has been involved in 10 or more discussions (email threads on dev mailing list, GitHub issues, discussions and PRs) Anyone who wants to opt out, please respond on this list. We will need a PMC chair too. I would like to put my name forward. If anyone else feels like they would like to be considered for this role, please respond to this thread. If anyone has different views on how we should constitute the prospective PMC and grant committer privileges, please also get in touch.
