We can consider this when we branch off the 1.1 code base. The download statistics for our jars in repository.apache.org show Scala 3 usage lags a long way behind Scala 2.13 or even 2.12.
In April 2024, for pekko-actor, 68% of jar downloads were Scala 2.13, 24.5% for Scala 2.12 and just 7.5% for Scala 3.
