I'm actually worried more about the users who have moved to mp2 already and would like to try not to break their code if possible.well, I feel less strongly about this than you do. the few methods that live in Apache:: land are small compared to all the other adjustments users are already required to make.
I think those users are used to making changes and living with not so well documented (different) features. As long as it is clear what needs to be changed, I don't think it would be such a problem.
It's the price of working on the bleeding edge, I think.
The current setup (in the final stages of getting this going for a client right now) is _very_ confusing. Getting file uploads working with libapreq without segfaults requires quite some testing... ;-)
