I'll take a look at this when I get back too, just to compare ... I think you mentioned this earlier, but just to confirm - everything (Perl, Apache, mod_perl) was compiled with VS7? I've heard of problems trying to mix stuff compiled with VS7 and VC++ 6 (which is what the Apache and ActivePerl binaries are compiled with).
No, I only use VC6. The VS7/MDM debugger stuff that had apparently sabotaged the VC6 debugger must've come with other MS products, probably Office, and/or the .NET runtime, which had also left its traces in the popup mess. I haven't done any VC/Win32 development for a few years, so haven't fixed this earlier. I think I did mention the free VCToolkit stuff a while ago, but I haven't used that so far.
