We discussed earlier that we would like to encourage modperl users to port their apps to mp2-RCX and since RC1 was released it's a time to do just that. So I was thinking we could post the following to the modperl users list/use.perl.org/freshmeat/slashdot.org:

-----------------------------------
mod_perl-2.0.0-RC1 was released [1]. Over the next few weeks we are going to release a few more candidates and then mod_perl 2.0.0 will be released. This is the time for you to start porting your applications to mod_perl 2.0 and report any problems you may have discover, while we can change the API a little. Once 2.0.0 is released API will be cast in stone. So please help us to glean out the remaining issues asap.

If you notice any problems, please submit a bug report following the guidelines [2].

----------------------------------

Does is sound good? Feel free to suggest better more enticing wording :) Thanks.

While I can post it to to the modperl users list/use.perl.org. I'm not sure how to reach freshmeat and slashdot.org. I think gozer has mentioned that he can post it to freshmeat. Anybody knows how to post to slashdot.org? I guess it should go to Apache section. (http://apache.slashdot.org/). We should probably contact someone who has posted earlier stories there.
