in my mind, however, we can't release a new RC until CGI.pm at least has a path forward. thus far lincoln hasn't responded to my emails (public and private) letting us know what CGI.pm should look like, which kind of leaves mod_perl in a bind.
not that CGI.pm defines who we are, but once the RC is on CPAN people will install it and find that they can't use CGI.pm anymore, and that would be ungood(tm).
Lincoln responds much better to patches, so instead of asking what to do, send a patch and hopefully it'll be accepted.
