for those playing along at home...

At around 09:43 PSt this morning, httpd on aurora stopped responding.

Couple of us started playing around with it, and found that httpd processes were not killable. (kill -9 no worky)

It seems to be caused by a bug in Solaris:
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6455727

Short: If you send a signal to an httpd process while it is using sendfilev, there is a chance you make the process unkillable.

Around 10:10 PST we started shifting DNS for the websites to eos.apache.org.

Aurora is currently rebooting....

Oh, and the bug report says its fixed on 10u5, but aurora is already on 10u5.
