Any other configuration (lower Apache versions) is not such a challenge that would require your valuable time. Also, drop (IMHO) the VC6 tool chain, probably not widely needed. What anybody wants (as is already possible with PHP 5.4 on Apache 2.4.2) is to use a contemporary Perl (5.14) with a contemporary Apache2.
