I'm definitely a fan of the idea of moving the stuff for reading and
writing to a general mapreduce package!
Looks like there is still quite a bit of javadoc fixing up to do in there
as well (there are a number of class descriptions that just say something like
"Describe your class here". I'll go through and add a few comments on a few
things I think might be worthwhile to consider doing differently as well.
