Sounds like PHOENIX-971 will indeed be the way to go for this. It's currently
more in the design phase, so if you need this on the short-term then you'll
probably need to add exclusions to your pom. Also, be aware that even with
PHOENIX-971 there will almost certainly still be some external dependencies
such as Guava.
