Hi, I'm Nishani, a Student at University of Moratuwa. I'm interested in attempting this project for GSoC 2015.
This issue on Phoenix includes creating charting and other visualization techniques on the tracing information found on SYSTEM.TRACING_STATS table. I plan to use AngularJS, html5, nvd3 library etc for this task. Firstly I'm following http://phoenix.apache.org/installation.html to install phoenix and also http://hbase.apache.org/cygwin.html for the installation of HBase. Then referred http://phoenix.apache.org/Phoenix-in-15-minutes-or-less.html for quick start phoenix. Next step would be to follow http://phoenix.apache.org/tracing.html to get myself familiarize with tracing information available and go through SYSTEM.TRACING_STATS table as mentioned in the comments. It will be followed by a research of formatting table data for easy representation and a comparison of existing database tools for visualizing trace information in different databases. I could then come up with a proposal to the project and consider all the suggestions you could give to improve it. Anything else that I have missed or you would like me to follow? Thanks.
