[~samarthjain] ok, I just wanted to double-check if there were issues with the
patch as committed. In the meantime I've tkane a closer look at it and the
patch looks fine to me, so I'm ok with it going into 4.3. On the other hand,
this is just a perf improvement and changes dependencies, so it's probably
better to just leave it in the 4.4 release and not worry about it for the 4.3.
