--------------------------------------------------------------

Dear [~jamestaylor],

This issue seems much easier than [PHOENIX-154 |
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PHOENIX-154]. Could I take it as my GSoC
project?

About this issue, I have the following tow questions:
1. You have mentioned that Apache Phoenix is integrating with Apache Calcite. I
want to know should I work follow the roadmap that you describe in the comments
or start the work on calcite branch.
2. Based on my understand, it is a pure client-side job. Is that correct?
Should I consider the situation that the dataset is considerably large, in
which I should use external sorting?

In addition, I find this
JIRA[PHOENIX-1580|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PHOENIX-1580], I think
it is quite similar to this JIRA and I can follow it's path.
Thank you very much.
