Josh Elser commented on PHOENIX-2960:
-------------------------------------
bq. Any important items for Phoenix in Avatica 1.8.0
Yeah, actually there are a couple of good ones imminent.
* Implementation of {{Statement.addBatch()}}, {{Statement.executeBatch()}}, and
related APIs will be a big performance gain for thin-driver use on the
write-path. In some old tests, we found that (for one YCSB workload) that using
these APIs got us a 2-3x increase in performance, bringing performance on par
with what the thick-driver already had.
* End-to-end kerberos client authentication (SPNEGO on the HTTP transport)
* Basic username/password authentication for clients (if that's your thing)
* A couple of type-related bug fixes from our friends [~kliew] and [~holmanl].
Extra docs and testing in Avatica will also have indirect benefit on the Apache
Phoenix community as a whole.
