[[email protected]], Sorry for the late response. Was trying to find a 
ultimate fix, but could only come up with this temporary solution. One of the 
problems existed in Phoenix's child-parent primary key optimization. But even I 
fixed the issue there, I didn't get the right results. So I guess there were 
some other lurking issues with DESC PK columns.
[~jamestaylor], Do you think it's fine that we go with this temp fix first? It 
basically avoids DESC PK columns in the optimization. I'll open another JIRA 
for further investigation.
