I was not creating 4.8 branches before release because of various maintenance
issues (as user needs to commit in 8 branches if RC fails and also we will not
have Jenkins builds to verify these branches regularly)
but given that, 4.8 release is getting delayed because of some serious issues,
it seems worth forking 4.8 branch and continuing developing and committing for
future releases in mainstream branches.
Considering the changes, I'm also fine if you want to commit this in 4.8.0
release.
