I think it's a good idea. In a perfect world, it would be nice to keep them
around as a reference for older versions, but that's not really tenable going
forward.
I'd definitely accept a patch that brings up the deprecated methods to 2.0.
Anything that becomes redundant or no longer has a corollary in 2.0, maybe just
comment out, mentioning that the syntax is valid for Spark 1.3-1.6.
