Github user rahulsIOT commented on the issue: https://github.com/apache/phoenix/pull/236 Thin client can call " LoadBalancer.getLoadBalancer().getSingleServiceLocation() " and get hold of host and port for PQS location. It can user DriverManager.getConnection to get connection object. The LoadBalancer.getLoadBalancer().getSingleServiceLocation() throw exception that client needs to catch. Usually it shows that there is some issue with connecting to zookeeper or there is not PQS registered with the zookeeper.
