Karan Mehta commented on PHOENIX-672:
-------------------------------------
bq. If you mean by option 1 can we support a REVOKE syntax which doesn't
specify a specific set of permissions, meaning therefore revoke them all, I
think that would be ok. At some future time we could theoretically support your
option 2, so let's make sure we don't make a decision now that prevents that
later.
Deciding on option 1 can theoretically support option 2 in future, provided
that the syntax and grammar would change. If users are fine with it, then it
should be okay. What do you think is the potential impact?

> In HBase 0.98, cell-level security will be available. Take a look at
> [this](https://communities.intel.com/community/datastack/blog/2013/10/29/hbase-cell-security)
> excellent blog post by @apurtell. Once Phoenix works on 0.96, we should add
> support for security to our SQL grammar.
