It's been about 10 months since our last patch release (5.1.2), and 14
months since our last minor release (4.16 and 5.1.0). In the interim we've
had some significant JIRAs come in, which would be good to get out to the
community. Some of these patches, such as online schema transforms, change
system metadata, which requires at least a minor release.

So, what needs to be completed before we can cut a release? I currently see
55 non-resolved JIRAs with a Fix Version of 5.2.0.[1]

I volunteer to RM a 5.2 release, unless someone else would like to do it.

Thanks,

Geoffrey Jacoby
