Hi! HBase is planning to release 2.5.11 and 2.6.2, which will support Hadoop 3.4.1, and the maven artifacts will also be built with the new version.
I think that removing old Hadoop transitive CVEs warrants a new release after we've also updated to these versions. The HBase release process is only just starting, so I think 5.2.2 could be targeted to the end of February or March. Do you agree on doing 5.2.2 after we switch to these HBase releases ? Are there any outstanding issues that you want to make sure are included in 5.2.2 ? One issue that comes to my mind is the ConnectionInfo perf regression, which has only been partially fixed.
