Summary: Separate generated and static content in website repo

Currently site/publish has both files generated from markdown, and static
resources: html files, images, javascript lbraries and functions.
It would be easier to maintain the repo if the static resources were separated
from the generated ones (for example, by creating a new directory for the
static resources, and copying them to site/publish during build.)
