Andrew Kyle Purtell created PHOENIX-8035:
--------------------------------------------
Summary: Vector index functional and performance harness
(phoenix-vector-harness)
Key: PHOENIX-8035
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PHOENIX-8035
Project: Phoenix
Issue Type: New Feature
Reporter: Andrew Kyle Purtell
Assignee: Andrew Kyle Purtell
Add phoenix-vector-harness, a benchmarking and validation framework that
evaluates the Phoenix vector index implementations under representative
operational workloads: the global inverted file (IVF) index of PHOENIX-7998 and
the region-local HNSW graph index of PHOENIX-8009, each evaluated
independently. The harness captures database metrics (query latency
distributions, throughput, RPC fan-out, scan amplification, region lifecycle
transitions, and storage overhead) alongside retrieval quality (recall@k,
precision@k, rank correlation, and distance error), over a deterministic,
parameterized synthetic vector generator or standard benchmark datasets such as
SIFT1M and GIST1M.
