Pig developers,
Google summer of code is a program sponsored by Google to stipend student writing code for open source software. Details of the program can be found at http://code.google.com/soc/

Last year, we participate Google Summer of Code for the first time. We get one student (Gianmarco) work on raw comparator secondary sort. It turns out to be very successful and we adopt his code in our code base.

This year, we want to participate again. I drafted a wiki page for Google summer of code 2011 (http://wiki.apache.org/pig/GSoc2011). Please let us know if you have comments/suggestions.

The timeline for the program can be found at http://www.google-melange.com/document/show/gsoc_program/google/gsoc2011/timeline. The candidate projects will be listed on March 18. So we need to finalize the wiki page by that.

Thanks
Daniel
