This is an aspirational JIRA. This would be a good candidate for someone who is
unsure of a large project that would have a significant impact on Pig.
Currently, the way that they logical plan works is fairly confusing. There is a
lot of copying and mutation and the dependencies are not very clear. If the
logical plan was immutable, then there would be only one place to go for
answers, and making changes on this level would be much easier than it is today.
