I imagine we could make this work for any RecordReader, yes. I think the
difference is just that different RecordReaders fail differently...for some,
you can recover, for others, you cannot. I have no problem making this more
generic, though I do not have the bandwidth for it atm. I think we should have
these tests, decide whether to commit this to Avro, then have another JIRA
which will make it more general.
