Deepesh Khandelwal created PIG-3606:
---------------------------------------
Summary: Pig script throws error when searching for hcatalog jars
in latest hive
Key: PIG-3606
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PIG-3606
Project: Pig
Issue Type: Bug
Components: tools
Affects Versions: 0.12.0
Reporter: Deepesh Khandelwal
Assignee: Deepesh Khandelwal
When pig CLI is run with -useHCatalog flag against latest hive binaries it
complains about the following:
{noformat}
ls: cannot access /usr/lib/hcatalog/share/hcatalog/hcatalog-core-*.jar: No such
file or directory
ls: cannot access /usr/lib/hcatalog/share/hcatalog/hcatalog-*.jar: No such file
or directory
ls: cannot access /usr/lib/hcatalog/share/hcatalog/hcatalog-pig-adapter-*.jar:
No such file or directory
{noformat}
Basically it searches for hcatalog jars as "hcatalog-{core,pig-adapter}-*.jar"
whereas in the latest hive 0.13 these jars are prefixed by "hive-"
(hive-hcatalog-{core,pig-adapter}-*.jar).
