I checked the following: - The SHA512 checksums and GPG signatures of the source and binary tarballs are correct (key FE4489E8BC6B342D is in KEYS). - The tag release-1.6.0-rc1 points to affe120ac8e858ace266961931f0c4dabfe21704, and the source tarball matches the tag. - LICENSE and NOTICE files are present. - The source builds with JDK 25. The MSE unit tests and MultiStageEngineIntegrationTest pass. - The batch quickstart starts from both the binary and source distributions. 63 MSE queries return correct results. They cover joins, window functions, set operations, GROUPING SETS/ROLLUP/CUBE, conditional aggregates, timeout and cancel. Not blocking: the batch quickstart now runs 3 servers in one JVM (#19090). DimensionTableDataManager is a static per-table singleton, so dimBaseballTeams replicas go to ERROR, and lookup joins can return empty results in the quickstart. Production deployments are not affected, so this isn't a release blocker.
