That is the standard way for Pivot to accept contributions from non-committers, and I think it would be the preferred way to continue, especially as we need explicit permission to use any contributions and JIRA handles that for us The Piviot git repo is a read-only mirror of the primary Pivot SVN repository, so all commits will continue to be into this SVN repository, before they are automatically mirrored back to the git repos.
