Looks like I'm going to have a few long train journeys over the holidays,
so I figured it might prove to be a good chance to have a play with the
office open xml stuff.
My plan was to try to knock up a text extractor for powerpoint, and maybe
excel (since I know the ole2 versions of those pretty well from a text
perspective).
To get at the zipped xml containers, I figured that openxml4j
<www.openxml4j.org> is going to be our best bet. What I'm less sure on is
what to use for the xml side. It'll either need to be stuff built into
Java, or apache licenced, but that does seem to offer a fair few choices!
So, does anyone have any suggestions for what xml stuff to use as the glue
to the record code?
Things with good downloadable examples would be a bonus, as most of the
trains don't have wifi! :/
