Please forgive me if this has been answered definitively elsewhere --
I was not able to find the answer.
I am trying to use POI/HWPF to write a simple mail-merge/search-and-
replace utility. I.e., use HWPFDocument to get to CharacterRuns and
check the text for placeholders, then try to replace that text using
a combination of Range.delete() and Range.insertBefore().
The closest thing I've found was an old thread between Nick B. and
Ryan A.

Has anyone been successful with this? Would anyone be able to
recommend a different approach? I would be happy to try out a
suggestion and turn in a patch/example if I'm successful.
