Incidently, I think it may be worth doing a 3.1.1 FINAL release in a 6-8 week timeframe. My experiences recently have been that it's much easier to port fixes trunk -> ooxml branch, compared to ooxml branch -> trunk. When we move the ooxml branch in as the new trunk, we probably won't want to do any more releases as 3.1.x, due to the effort porting the changes back. So, we might well want to do one last release off the current trunk, with the few fixes that are bound to crop up in the next few weeks, and only then swap in the ooxml branch as trunk
I think the release procedure for maintenance releases can be quicker, otherwise we should start voting on 3.1.1. right now :) Personally, I think we can do it in one step and skip betas.
