Hi Nick,

BTW - It looks like http://www.apache.org/legal/resolved.html has been substantially updated recently (in the past few months) and it is clear there that the GPL and LGPL must not be included. There do not appear to be any exceptions for "data."

Yup, that's what we'll need to talk about on legal-discuss, assuming that the vsdump project doesn't dual license the file in question (which I'm hoping they will do, should hear more on the weekend)

Has vsdump provided a compatible license? Are we satisfied? If not, then it is time to remove the code. If you later get an appropriate license then we should vote to bring it back. After all, isn't this code a bit like a very mini version of the ooxml4j donation?

If the release for 3.5b4 was incorrect because of this then how should we proceed?

I think as long as we resolve it one way or another before the next release, learn our lesson, and cover it in the next board report we ought to be ok :)

I suppose.

Regards,
Dave
