Indeed. Just abide by the license (basically let your users know you are using POI, don't say it's POI if you patched it, and all the yadda-yadda), and you're free to go. It goes without saying that if you spot a bug and produce a fix, contributions will be very welcome over here (and in your interest as well, as you don't want to live on a patched version).
