They're quite odd files, not a lot like .pptx.

You should be able to use the openxml4j stuff to process the package and get out all the file parts. If you use the full oooxml-schemas file (not poi-ooxml-schemas as that only has common parts) then you should be able to process most of the contents at a fairly low level
