Hi We are trying to an Excel file merge functionality using POI. It is a great open source product, I would say great job by apache and open source contributors!!!
:) I see limitations using merging the XLS as well as XLSX files with data as well as graphs. The limitations we found out are: 1. Data format is not well merged. 2. Images or logos are not transferred properly. 3. Charts are not working at all. 4. More than 1.5 MB file merge messes data. I have made a POC using SmartXLS, JEXCel, OpenXLS, jxls, POI and Aspose. Aspose turned out to be the best but expensive. Next best is SmartXLS, but has issue with multiple files merge as well as Charts/Graphs. POI turns out to be the next best in my point of view, but needs enhancement. I know POI is an open source software but is there any plan to improve on above limitations? - I really love POI be the best!
