I don't notice XMLBeans except when it breaks, and it hasn't been for me, so I'm happy with that. I'd love a new release soon with the change I just made, that would help a lot with some significant changes I'm submitting to the Vaadin UI component that uses POI. And it was my math error in the first place. Sigh.
I've not done a release yet, but I'd be willing to read the docs and take a stab at it if no one else has time.
