To be honest, POI has very few active committers with only minimal time spent
by the remaining few. Also no-one is paid for the work here, so even if it may
be urgent for you, this won't mean it gets immediate attention.
So your best bet to moving this forward is to investigate and provide a PR via

Also becoming a committer is not all that hard and thus a mid-term option. This
way you could more directly influence which improvements and fixes are applied
and when releases are provided.
