This is a 7 day vote thread and it will take a few days for the deadline to occur. If people are amenable, I can produce an RC2 using the same git commit but that omits the stray files. The jars are ok as is as the jars were not built by me. I took them from ci-builds.apache.org (Java 8 build). I can start a new vote for the RC2 but I can use the more usual 72 hour min for the vote. I'll wait to see if this plan is ok before proceeding.
