Hi,
I did a new pass on NOTICE and LICENSE file. For context and reminder:
1. NOTICE file should be minimal, and not list license information, so
it's not correct in RC1. The NOTICE file should also contain NOTICE
files from ALv2 software used by Polaris.
2. LICENSE file is also not correct in RC1: LICENSE file should not
list dependencies but only 3rd party *code* included in the *source*
release
3. I would also suggest to put licenses into a license directory and
cutting down on the content of the LICENSE file
4. NOTICE file should also contain a re-located copyright statement
from the software grant. Something like:
"The initial code for the Polaris project was donated
to the ASF by Snowflake Inc. (https://www.snowflake.com) copyright 2024."
Regarding this, I will review again and prepare a series of PR to fix
that, probably removing the auto-generate that is overridden my
previous fixes and not accurate (using deps).
