Just a note about released artifacts (see
https://www.apache.org/legal/release-policy.html), the minimum
artifact to vote and distribute is the source distribution. However,
for convenience (to our users), we distribute binary artifacts. Python
artifacts, published on PyPI.org, should be staged and reviewed during
the release vote (as we do with runtime distribution, or helm chart,
Docker images is a but different I will propose an improvement on the
release process about that).
The Release Guide
(https://polaris.apache.org/community/release-guide/) is pretty clear
about the artifacts to stage and vote on.

So, before publishing any Python artifact, that should be reviewed and
be part of the release vote. We should probably update the release
guide about that.
