Hi everyone, I am excited to share that the ASF Board has approved Apache Polaris as a Top Level Project (TLP). This is a significant milestone for our project and the entire community. The PMC members for the project will include the current mentors and PPMC members from the podling. I am honored to serve as the VP and Chair of the Polaris project. I would like to thank everyone who contributed during the incubation process, including our mentors, contributors, users, committers, and PPMC members. As we move forward, the next steps include: - Removing "incubating" from the project name and versions. - Operating as a self-governed project for releases. We now require three binding votes from PMC members and no longer need to start a new vote on [email protected]. - Reporting to the Board monthly for the first three months, then moving to a quarterly schedule. Our next board report will be due in March. I am also currently working with the ASF M&P team on a press release to announce this news.
