Thanks for starting this thread.

I believe the direction depends on the type of CLI experience we want to
provide. I see two main options:

1. Improving the "look and feel" of the existing CLI without adding
significant interaction.
2. Transitioning from a CLI to a full shell (similar to the Karaf Shell I
worked on, which utilizes jline for features like completion and binding

These options cater to different personas. At this stage, I am more in
favor of the first option, as you described in the GitHub issue.
