Seems to be a puppet issue? The DB is still there, but a new one was created on top. https://github.com/apache/infrastructure-puppet/blob/deployment/data/nodes/ponymail-vm.apache.org.yaml#L23 says /x1/elastic/db, but the actual test data is in /x1/elastic/db/pony, so the yaml needs adjustments.
