Hi Eric B.

Maybe you can have a look at :
<http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=48737> (stlport for 1.1.4)

Florian has made a great work for this issue.

+ (to be adapted )

<http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=48522>

1) Theses patches probably need to be modified, since they break the build on 10.3
2) I have not entered all corresponding issues for 1.1.x, sorry

Thanks. I will include those.

So before trying to help out on the Mac OSX build for pre-2.0, I would like to successfully build the latest OOo 1.1.X that has fixes for building with gcc-4.0.X in it.

What is so important to build with gcc-4.0 ? Reading some benchmark let me think that it's not yet fully usable...

But MacOSX Tiger default compiler on my machine seems to be gcc-4.0

[KBH-Computer:~] kbhend% gcc -dumpversion
4.0.0

It is Not gcc-3.3. I installed the XCode 2 tools that came with the Tiger install dvd.

Is there an environment variable or a program to run that can reset this to gcc-3.3 as default?

I guess I could simply change all of the symlinks that Tiger set up for me ...

[KBH-Computer:~] kbhend% cd /usr/bin
[KBH-Computer:/usr/bin] kbhend% ls -l *cc*
lrwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel        7 May  9 12:24 cc -> gcc-4.0
-rwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel    69280 Mar 20 19:13 distcc
-rwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel    92260 Mar 20 19:13 distccd
-rwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel   100904 Mar 20 19:13 distccschedd
lrwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel        7 May  9 12:24 gcc -> gcc-4.0

And the ones for g++ as well and cpp and ...

Has anyone successfully built under Tiger with XCode 2 tools installed? If so, which tree and which compiler version are they using?

I'm actually building 1.9.102 with gcc-3.3 and IBMj2sdk 1.4.2, but only with 32bits arch (PPC G4).
BTW : Have you some news from Blackdown jdk ?

Nothing positive I am afraid. I personally switched to the IBM JDK 1.4.X builds since Blackdown JDK 1.3.1 was getting so long in the tooth.

If you are interested, you can try en-US version (m99), you'll find here : <http://ooo.lab-project.net/~ebachard/Linux_PowerPC/2.0/m99/ deb/en-US/>

Be carefull : this build needs the IBM 1.4.2jre, else it wont work as expected.

Great! I will install the newer 1.4.2 (my old version was JDK 1.4.1) from IBM and give your build a try under PPC Linux.

Nice work!

Kevin
