I'm with Kevin on this - I don't use Fink or DarwinPorts, but prefer to
download the individual packages as necessary, and so far that has been
working for me.


I suggest the build instructions list the minimum additional dependencies,
and then describes several options (a) stand-alone packages, and you are on
your own, (b) Fink, with examples of Fink usage, (c) DarwinPorts, with
examples of DarwinPorts usage; of course CPAN is a separate issue.
