Hi Eric,
Eric Hoch a écrit :
For 2.0 , following what was recently proposed on releases
mailing list, we will (try to) provide official and experimental
builds, like described above. If none disagree, and if nothing's
wrong, I propose to complete and update the porting web site
about this baseline (Eric, may you please complete?)
Which server URL to use good-day? Stardiv?
Excuse me, I was not precise :
Builds (means the process from sources, until packaging ): Maho does
The build process is now well known, and we must concentrate our efforts
around development and communication to improve the visibility and
transparency of Mac OS X porting project.
About where the user can download can download the build, I have still
no idea : maybe Stefan can help here ?
I guess we will use both (more safe ), because Maho is able to provide
a dedicated location.
Mirors are important too because they will help to save Maho's bandpath.
Build is made using Mac OS X 10.3 (aka Panther ).
Minimal version required : 10.3.4 (10.3.8.adviced)

Some questions here:
Is --disable-cups really needed? ./configure runs through if I use
enable or disable cups and I can see no difference in the finished
build. So can someone please explain me if it's better to
disable-cups or enable-cups.
In addittion I need to use --disable-gnome-vfs otherwise
./configure breaks for me - at least with m126. I haven't checked
it with higher milestones yet.
Looks like it was a good idea to talk about the exact configure command
line :-)
Yes, you're right : I have given this command line as example, and the
exact content will be completely defined with all comments, no problem.
What I cannot use because of a version conflict between Darwinports
and X11 is --with-system-freetype but thanks to Florian a patch
exists.
If a compatibility patch does exist, it must be integrated. Can you send
me this patch, please ?
Thank you for coordinating our efforts and I hope that my comments
will be of any use.
They are : thank you ! :-)
Kind regards,
eric bachard
