Hi all,
I want to share my latest experiences with the Mac OS X installer and the packaging process on Panther (Mac OS X 10.3.9). I used the packaging script (create-package.sh) provided by Maho (I think)

Yes, first version was provided by Maho, but I remember Stephan modified, using BUNDLE variable, for example.

which creates tar files and a single disk image (dmg) at the end.
This works superb on Panther!

I confirm. It works fine, and Tiger compatibility looks ok too.

No hanging package process anymore.
My former tries with the 'create_OSX_dmg' script provided by Florian Heckl failed unfortunately.

After some modifications, it was working correctly using portable format. But my script was not very clean.

The lastest start script provided by Stephan Schaefer fixes some smaller problems reported by Eric Hoch.

Right, I just forgot them :-)

Remaining problems with this script are:
running 'fondu' works not yet correctly and I have wrong application and document icons at the moment.

I think we should take our time to implement fondu as 2.0.1 task.

The following things work with this script:
-Multiple user can start OOo now
-Users without admin rights can start OOo as well
-The applet stays open until OOo will be closed

Great !

The version of main.applescript Stephan attached have has both these changes, including fondu. But I'd prefer report fondu inclusion. May you please attach just the main.applescript you are using to #i42998# ? This means, if I'm not wrong, the use of fondu is not included , but multiple users and rights problems are fixed

Thank's in advance :-)

So I can commit these changes as soon as possible.

As I explained in my recent post, last changes in macosx11 are in :

config_office : portable format
solenv : add create-package.sh, delete create_OSX_dmg
instsetoo_native : use create-package

If you checkout last changes, please don't forget to run autoconf in config_office, because configure has to be regenerated. :-)

Do you see something else for macosx11 ? Missing License headers issues looks fixed ... and ?

eric bachard
